iPod Touch

This is my friend's iPod touch which I have borrowed to do some review. Sorry for the low picture quality. This iPod Touch is  very slim. Actually it is almost identical to iPhone, only that it can't make phone call.  The user interface is very smooth and very easy to use. One of the best thing about this iPod touch is it can go online using wifi which is very convenient. My favourite feature of this gadget is the way it can control when playing games which is very fun. You need to move the iPod around to control the movement of the object which is very exciting. It is definitely one of my top wish-list gadget that I want to have.

MyVu Crystal Media Viewer

Jason Pei has recommended me to talk about the Apple  bluetooth headset but it has been discontinued by Apple. The reason to discontinue is unknown. Instead, today I will talk about Myvu Crystal Media Viewer which is not an Apple product but it is complementary product to iPhone and iPod. It is a product that you connect to iPhone or iPod, you wear it like glasses, then you can enjoy movies in full screen in VGA qualities. There is a headphone in it. It is a very good complementary product because the screen of iPod is very small and you to  hold it when watching movies. With this, you can watch movies in full screen and hands-free anywhere, anytime. This gadget is nice but it is quite expensive.

Time Capsule: The New Age of Internet Router

Apple's Time Capsule is a router with hard drive inside it. Personally, I think the best feature of this gadget is it can back up your important files wirelessly. It also makes sharing easier because other LAN users can use the hard drive in this router to back up and share files at the same time. Users can share the hard drive space and connect to it at the same time. Besides, with an USB port in this router, you can connect a printer with it and then print document without wire to your PC. With this, we can share a printer much more easier. It is very creative from Apple to combine router and hard drive together to make it more convinient for users to do certain tasks.

This is another very small product from Apple called Mac Mini. It is a CPU for desktop computer. The first time I look at it, I thought it is a external hardisk. The size of this CPU is as small as a external hardisk. Imagine, you can bring around this CPU like you bring a hardisk, how convenient. It is especially convenient for people who study or work away from their hometown because it is easier for them to bring home the CPU when they going back to hometown. Unlike the conventional CPU where it is so big and heavy. Besides, the design is simple and looks great. COOL product.

The even better and smaller, the new iPod shuffle 3rd generation

This world smallest smallest music player has 4GB storage which mean you can keep up to 100 songs. When this shuffle came out, I was amazed that it is half the size of previous generation shuffle but since it is so small, will it compromise the simple control of previous generation. So I go check it out in their website, I found out that it still very easy to control because the controls are located on the right earbud cord. which is  strategically placed in this more convenient location. Besides, it has a very interesting new feature call voiceover, Say you’re listening to a song and want to know the title or the artist. With the press of a button, VoiceOver tells you as the music dips down. It even announces the names of your playlists. And when your battery needs charging, VoiceOver tells you that, too. Wow, impressive indeed from Apple again.

iPod Shuffle:The most wearable digital music player in the world

Another cool Apple product, iPod shuffle which Apple called it the most wearable digital music player in the world. From the picture above, I have to agree that it is quite wearable because it is very small and colourful. One of my friend is using this iPod and I have a chance to take a look at it. I think the best features of this ipod shuffle is its clip where you can wear it almost everywhere on your clothes.  Besides, a trademark of Apple product, the shuffle is extremely easy to use,  Play, Pause, Skip Forwards and Backwards, that’s all that is there on the front giving the simplest and fastest ways to get some music on. I  found it so easy and intuitive to use even without looking at it, I still can control it with ease. Another great product from Apple.

Maxis to launch iPhone 3G

Maxis Communications Bhd has launched the iPhone 3G on March 20, 2009 in Malaysia. I m so happy because finally iPhone have come to town. So I go to Maxis website so see the plan for this iPhone 3G which is called iValue plan. I thought we can get some bargain for the iPhone 3G through this iValue plan but unfortunately, it still out of my reach or to put it straightly, it is damn exspensive. There are a lot of options in this iValue plan, but let say you want to get the iPhone 3G 8GB for free by tying a postpaid contract with maxis, guess how much do you have to pay a month? RM375. Yup RM375 for 2 YEARS. I certainly can't afford it.

Since you really like the song so you start asking around your friends by humming the song but your friends have no idea of what song your are humming. Sound familiar?

Apple has a new application called Shazam which help you to solve this problem.Shazam is a free application that allows you to hold your iPhone up to a music source, and Shazam will tell you what the song is. (See video below)

Apple's Multi-Touch Technology

When I watched Steve Jobs launching the IPhone, I was very impressed by  his presentation skill and I was blown away by the user interface of IPhone. We can control the IPhone at ease using only our fingers. For example, zooming in and out of web pages and photos is done by placing two fingers on the screen and spreading them farther apart or bringing them closer together, an gesture known as "pinching". These can be done by using multi-touch technology.

The people behind this technology are Wayne Westerman and John Elias (picture above). Currently, Westerman is a senior engineer at Apple. That is the reason why I like Apple so much because they make our life so much easier because now everyone is copying them as you can see in the latest handphone in the market (as usual, everybody is copying Apple). Just like the icon and mouse technology. Apple is the first one to use icon in their interface and mouse. Then, everybody copied this technology.End result? Our life is so much easier when using the computer. Thanks to Apple.

The thinnest notebook in the WORLD!

I like Apple a lot because they always produced very 'cool' gadget like the iPhone, iPod touch, macbook, I just love every products they offered. It is because their design is so simple yet elegant and their user interface is so nice and user friendly. They do not just to produce another new product but they produce revolutionary products almost every time. The latest Apple product that makes me drooling and yell 'wow' is the Macbook Air (picture above). It is the thinnest notebook in the world. It is so thin, it can fit into a manila envelope without any problem (picture below).

The great thing about this Macbook Air is they do not compromise on the size of the screen and keyboard, unlike other notebook in the market which crammed up the size of the screen and keyboard in order to increase portability. Macbook Air has 13.3 inch widescreen and full size, full feature keyboard with oversize multi-touch trackpad for ease of use yet it still has high portability because it is very thin and lighweight. I will recommend this Macbook Air to the working people who spend most of their time outside the office or on the field because it is easy to keep and bring around but at the same time, it still provide you with 13.3 inch screen and full size keyboard for ease of use.

Hi, my name is Chan Hong Lih from MMU and welcome to my blog. I am 23 years old from Ipoh, Perak. This blog is made for my Marketing IT project in which I will talk about Apple products and please leave some comments.

There are 2 reasons why I choose Apple as my topic. First I like their products. Second I like Steve Jobs. Steve Jobs always stresses the importance of simplicity in their products. Hence, as we can see, Apple products are always looked simple in their design and also in their user interface . I like simplicity, that is the reason why I choose Apple as my brand for this blog. Thank you.
